Famed city preacher and social commentator Pastor T Mwangi has revealed he strongly feels the church brethren doesn't offer genuine brotherhood and support such as the one found among people who are of the secular world.
"Ile kitu nitakwambia ukweli kabisaa... friendship. What I genuinely miss from the outside (secular) world is genuine friendships," the famed city preacher strongly said before candidly adding that when it came to religious settings individuals didn't really come through for each other in a brotherly selfless way as one would expect.
"Sometimes you don't get that in church," Pastor T noted.
"A good example is, unajua mlevi sahii mlevi akipata puncture leo na mkristu apate puncture pia, walevi wataendea mtu wao but wakristu watakuombea," The religious man said in between bouts of laughter as he emphasized his point.
His above remarks translate to, "if a drunkard and a Christian were both to get a tyre puncture at the same time and sort help, other drunkards would swiftly show up for their man to offer help while Christians would just pray for their fellow soldier instead of offering actual help,"
Mr. Mwangi went on to highlight the hypocrisy and air of self-righteousness witnessed among Christians by stating, "For example, like if today you said you'd gotten saved/born again there is a certain lifestyle you used to live and, in all honesty, it is not as if all aspects of your life are going to miraculously do a 360 and change in one day.
So perhaps by bad luck you might be found at some corner drinking and following this people will persecute you, you will be dragged. Instead of people holding your hand, encouraging you and walking the journey with you,"
Finishing up Pastor T while drawing a comparison between Christians and secular individuals noted, "But if you are in a bar and you tell the guys you are drinking with that you are quitting alcohol, they are the one who will tell you, 'today we are buying you soda,' They genuinely love and support you"
"I think that that genuine love is missing in the church because of the covering up of religion. You know a church isn't a museum and it has all calibre of people, "
